The Hem of Him

"Take heart, daughter," He said, "your faith has healed you."

I have learned that the Lord Almighty is with you always. His Word promises to never leave you nor forsake you. Upon salvation, conversion and regeneration takes place. I sometimes compare it to the wilderness experience of the Children of Israel. The wandered in the wilderness for 40 years AFTER, the were freed from the bonds of the Egyptians. They saw God as the Deliverer, as the Protector, as the Provider, as the Miracle worker, as the Way Maker, as the Savior, as the Hearer of Prayers, as Righteousness, and so on. God manifested Him self as a pillar of cloud and of fire just because of His everlasting love.
BUT...as we come out of Egypt...why does it seem like we can not shake the wilderness...why are we still going in circles?
I am interested in hearing from everyone as we all continue to trust God for profecting the work which He started within us!

I think people for the most part feel comfortable with that thing which is familiar to them. Change for many is hard. In fact it is so difficulty that people are willing to go back to Egypt (to be in bondage, to be beaten and mistreated etc.) because they know what to expect. They are willing to be slaves (and live hand to mouth) rather than be free because they're not familiar with freedom. Think about a woman who knows she needs to leave that abusive man alone but she just keeps going back. Not because it’s good for her but because she has built up a comfort level with her abuser. She knows what to expect (she realizes that she could loose her life if she continues to stay). A since of fear sets in with these women or anyone who has that Israelite mentality……these women realize that if they leave this man, ultimately you have to start all over. It takes courage to start all over. That is why in the scripture it states that the Israelites walked out of Egypt with boldness. They were a proud people when they made their Exodus, but when things started to get harder (or when Pharaoh’s army was behind them, or they had no food, or when they had no water, or when they didn’t know what happened to Moses on the mountain etc) they started to doubt. The slightest thing discouraged them enough to want to turn back around and go back to Egypt. If it wasn’t for Moses’ persistence they probably would have turned back around. Despite the many miracles they witnessed (even while in Egypt) they were still afraid to be free. The bible refers to it as a dog returning to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly (Proverbs 26:11). The way I see it, Egypt is easy but getting to the promise land is hard but worth every effort. Don’t be afraid of change and pray that the Lord gives you strength to accept it and to walk out of your Egypt with BOLDNESS.

You know what. I believe in the contrary, Egypt is not easy neither is the promise land hard. If you study the map to the promise land it was significantly shorter than the way the Israelites took. Egypt seems easier becuase you know it but check this. In the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and pleasure evermore. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty, I will say of the Lord His is my Refuge and Fortress. Now sometimes we don't want to admit it, but though Egypt is familiar it is not easy. As a matter of fact it is very difficult, that's why we wanted to come out in the first place. The things is you can take the girl out the ghetto but try taking the ghetto out of the girl. That's why the bible talks about be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind. If we could only renew the mind, we could understand who GOD really is, we could understand that though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we shall fear no evil for God is with us. For He has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and of a sound mind. The promise land tells me that yes trouble may come but it WILL be easier because the promises of God says He will NEVER leave NOR forsake me. I am not sure who is still wandering in the wilderness, but I urge you to forgive yourself for your short comings. (Don't I know that this always brings me back to the past) Understand that GOD loves you, just as you are! Then press, press, press foward because God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Yes we are OUT OF EGYPT but let's cut all the urges to go back. It's the urges that keeps us away from God. Can a man serve two masters? No, he will hate one and love the other. So if we dwell in the past we are not giving ourselves a chance to learn to love God for who He is all that He's done and all that He's planning to do! Be encouraged in Jesus name!
